Wisconsin Dells Area
Wilderness on the Lake is just a short drive from the Midwest's #1 tourist attraction, the Wisconsin Dells. The English pronunciation of the 17th century French explorers' name for the unique and beautiful rock formations lining the Wisconsin River, the Dells has been a tourist destination for more than a century.
Visitor activity developed from boat tours of the 'Dells' themselves, to water shows on the river, to water parks on the banks, to indoor water parks for year-round enjoyment. Today, the Dells is home to several of the largest indoor water parks in the world.
It also offers world class golfing, fine dining with locally produced ingredients, relaxing and refreshing spas, theatres, shopping and many more attractions. Its convention business is growing rapidly. The Wisconsin Dells has grown from a seasonal vacation spot to a 12 month destination.
Shops
You can enjoy some of the finest shopping in downtown Wisconsin Dells at The Artistic Expressions Gallery. Another you will want to explore is The Dandelion Gift Shop. Its irresistible collection offers a fun approach to functional garden art, jewelry, clothing, accessories, candles, home décor and artwork. At The Tanger Outlet Center in nearby Lake Delton you buy direct from the manufacturer at over 60 brand name stores, where bargain-hunting is always in style.
Dining
The Wisconsin Dells has many wonderful dining options. From casual (Applebee's and Uno Chicago Grill) to fine, our cuisine choices are sure to please your pallet.
The Del-Bar is an exquisite postwar prairie-style steak house with a welcoming style that makes it a longtime favorite place to relax with family and friends.
At Field's at the Wilderness you dine in a more contemporary expression of Frank Lloyd Wright's style. Its flagstone interior, including several stone-hearth fireplaces, water features, and a stunning 36-foot atrium, make a fine dining experience quite intimate.
There is unique and enjoyable family dining in an Italian-style setting at Sarento's Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria. Sarento's chefs prepare specialties featuring pastas, veal, chicken, seafood, steak, pizza, soups, salads and home-made desserts.
If you crave dinner and a show, at the Chicago Club Cabaret Dinner Show you will experience a Roaring 20's Dinner Show just off Broadway, by way of Wisconsin.
The Broadway Dinner Theatre presents fine food accompanied by multi-million dollar musical productions with first-rate talent. Its vocal stars, world-class instrumentalists and mesmerizing dance troupe create a night of unforgettable entertainment.
Golf
Wild Rock Golf Course will open in Spring 2008. The Dells' newest course is designed by Hurdzen/Fry, creators of some of the most highly praised contemporary courses in North America. Its companion executive nine-hole course, Wilderness Woods, is a longtime favorite for those seeking a quick round.
Spas
Sundara Spa has been called one of the Top 25 Spas in America by Travel + Leisure. ABC's Good Morning America named it the #3 Favorite Spa Escape in America.
